DESCRIPTION:Dr. Adam Jones will talk about contemporary debates and controv
 ersies in genocide studies\, including over the war in Gaza.\n\n\n\nDr. Ad
 am Jones is a Professor of Political Science at UBC-O\, writer\, and photo
 journalist. Born in Singapore and raised in Vernon\, he is the author of G
 enocide: A Comprehensive Introduction and other books in genocide studies.
  He is the Executive Director of Gendercide Watch. His research includes g
 enocide and structural violence\; crimes against humanity\; gender and vio
 lence\; gender and international political economy\; research impacts huma
 n rights policymaking and social activism\, gender and development policie
 s\, humanitarian intervention and peacebuilding\, and international law. H
 e was chosen as one of "Fifty Key Thinkers on the Holocaust and Genocide" 
 for the book of that name\, which was published in 2010. He is also a publ
