CFI Sewing Group

In the winter, a group of people who like to sew joined CFI Okanagan’s sewing group to make toys that would eventually find a good home, with children who would love them. We collected donations of fabric and shared tips, patterns, stuffing, and photos of our creations to help inspire one another. Some of us were new to sewing, and some of us were experienced — and we ended up making a wide variety of different toys. Plenty of imaginary creatures, aliens, owls, rabbits, classic bears, and even a walrus!
The Kelowna Women’s Shelter has about 100 kids who use their 11700789_1049393531757970_3862943426457019501_oservices each year, and the staff were delighted to receive our donation in July. The CFI Okanagan sewing group’s next goal is to make a winter delivery to the Vernon Women’s Shelter. Please contact Zena Ryder if you’re interested in making some toys to contribute.
