Shrinking Creatures, Evolution, and Climate Change in B.C.
Evolution is happening right before our eyes and beneath our feet, here in the Okanagan.
University of British Columbia research has found that beetles in the Okanagan and Lower Mainland are shrinking as they adapt to warming temperatures. Salamanders, Arctic butterflies, and coyotes are among other creatures that are evolving into smaller versions of themselves due to climatic change.
