ABOUT US
Kelowna Atheists, Skeptics and Humanists Association
Kelowna Atheists, Skeptics and Humanists Association is a non-partisan body that seeks to foster a secular community guided by reason, science, freedom of inquiry, and humanistic values.
We are a community of freethinking people who put on events, workshops, and conferences and work to promote critical thinking and evidence-based reasoning in Kelowna and the Okanagan for greater community and cooperation.
At KASHA we focus on these areas:
1. Human Rights
2. Science
3. Education.
4. Secular Humanism
In all of these areas, we work to promote a scientific and secular humanist life stance, one that challenges established norms and customs and one that believes in the freedom of all individuals to ask important questions about life, nature, and the world around them.
History Statement – KASHA recognizes the long and varied human history of settlement, exploitation, systemic racism, and environmental change over the land that we now call the Okanagan and Canada.
Diversity Statement – KASHA embraces all human diversity that evolution has bestowed upon us. We welcome all genders, sexual orientations, and the beautiful medley of homo sapiens to come sit, discuss and change the world with us.
A Brighter Future – It is only with our focused determination for reasoned and rational change that we will build a better and brighter future for the coming generations.
