Dr. Adam Jones will talk about contemporary debates and controversies in genocide studies, including over the war in Gaza.

Dr. Adam Jones is a Professor of Political Science at UBC-O, writer, and photojournalist. Born in Singapore and raised in Vernon, he is the author of Genocide: A Comprehensive Introduction and other books in genocide studies. He is the Executive Director of Gendercide Watch. His research includes genocide and structural violence; crimes against humanity; gender and violence; gender and international political economy; research impacts human rights policymaking and social activism, gender and development policies, humanitarian intervention and peacebuilding, and international law. He was chosen as one of “Fifty Key Thinkers on the Holocaust and Genocide” for the book of that name, which was published in 2010. He is also a published photographer.
