Critical Thinking Parents’ Group
Using critical thinking skills to respectfully discuss common and taboo parenting topics
My name is Jess and I am an older student at UBCO, studying psychology with the intention of becoming a social worker. I have two young children which makes it hard to study or finish any task really, but I am slowly working towards a degree!
The meaning of life, religion, politics, the prevalence of pseudoscience in our community – these are all topics I love discussing. However, I have learned that discussing these heated topics (even in a friendly way) isn’t popular among many of my friends and acquaintances.
I started the Critical Thinking Parents’ Group through KASHA to find other parents who are also interested in meaningful conversations.
If you are a parent with kids still living at home and want to connect with myself and other non-religious parents who are critical thinkers, you can reach me through the contact form below.
If there is enough interest, we can start a regular meeting to discuss topics that are usually off limits in conversations while honing our critical thinking skills and avoiding small-talk!
